GT Sensor Elite 27.5
The 2014 Sensor Elite is a must have hardcore trail bike. Featuring a host of impressive components, the Sensor Elite will tame your need for total trail fun whether it’s filing away drops and banking steep berms, hacking away down a crazy descent run or by satisfying your need to get completely covered in mud. Whatever you choose, the Sensor Expert is the machine to do it.
At your disposal is a bike that is built around GT’s Speed Metal alloy full-sus frame, which uses their Angle Optimised Suspension system and Independent Drivetrain (see below), Rockshox Sektor forks – giving a plush 130mm of travel and Fox Racing rear shock with rebound adjust and lockout. Built around all this are components from Shimano (Deore) and Formula (C1).
The drivetrain featured on the Sensor Elite is Shimano Deore. Shimano’s Deore is found at the shifters and front/rear mechs and also the chainset – in the form of a triple 42x32x22. Couple this triple chainset with the 10 speed rear cassette and you have 30 gear choices to choose from. Meaning you have the gearing to get up the steepest/muddiest slope and the gearing to maximise the speeds when descending or racing along the flatter sections.
With speed comes stopping and this achieved thanks to Formula’s awesome C1 hydraulic disc brakes. Superb braking performance is guaranteed in all weather conditions with the disc pads clamping themselves around the hefty 180mm disc rotors.
The wheels need to be as strong as an ox, so to withstand the punishment you throw at them, this machine comes fitted with Jalco XCD21 (650B) rims, which are built on a pair of All Terra hubs (15 x 100mm front and 12 x 142mm rear), and a pair of Continental X-King (27.5 x 2.2 and 2.4) tyres. Continental are renowned to give excellent grip in all weathers and carve through deep mud with ease.
Topping off this beauty is a Crankbrothers Cobalt 34.9mm x 400mm seatpost with a Fizik Tundra 2 saddle (MTB specific) perched on top.
Hit the trails hard with the Sensor Elite and have bags of fun in doing so. Ridden by Race Whippets and Weekend Warriors alike, trail bikes balance strength and durability with lightweight and ride ability, so they are equally at home on the singletrack, the sprint for the finish line or the Sunday thrash with your friends.
Each Sensor is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle’s team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure you’re bike arrives in perfect condition. To find out which size fits you use the size chart below
Independent Drivetrain
This suspension does its job. Period. Because it operates independently of the drivetrain, the suspension can focus solely on its intended purpose – a smoother, faster ride – without making compromises in pedaling efficiency. And because it’s an inherently simple design, it’s easy to set up, ride and maintain.
Angle Optimised Suspension
AOS isolates your pedal forces from the suspension, so all the effort you out into pedalling stays with your pedalling and your suspension only reacts when you need it to.
Note: Manufacturer may reserve the right to change the specification of that listed or shown on this page.
