Worlds Cheapest (usable) Mountain Bike? – Jamis Trail X2

We are not talking about a high tech bit of kit here but for just £175 this offering for Jamis and CRC blows pretty much all other bottom end bicycles out of the water!

Normally at this price all you can hope for is a Argos special with imitation suspension and plastic resin finishing kit. This Jamis comes with a working coil sprung suspension fork with 60mm of travel, Shimano groupset including mechs and shifters, an 7005 Alloy frame and Tektro Disks brakes with Shimano levers.
An absolute bargain proper mountain bike.

That component list is a pretty big improvement on most bikes at this price range which still have iron frames, steel wheels that go rusty after a month and no-name components that blatantly don’t ever fully work. The full component list can be found here…

For £35 less at £140 you can also have the Jamis X2 08, No disk brakes on this model but a better suspension for in the RST 191 with 75mm of Travel and the V brakes supplied will be more than adequate for most riders.

At the end of the day, for the occasional off road rider, daily commuters or weekend outings this budget bike is perfect for most! Its a massive step up from other budget mtb bikes in terms of quality and you could even do some future upgrades component wise if you wished. For £175 and £150 with 60% off the RRP its a bargain not to be missed! Click here for more info…
